Jennifer Walshe: A Late Anthology of Early Music
A neural network was trained with the voice of the internationally renowned Irish composer and performer Jennifer Walshe. The machine's first sounds consisted of long notes and glitchy errors that evolved into bizarre melodies, whistles and white noise before the sound of her own voice finally emerged. She performatively contrasts this musical development of the machine with the development of early Western music. The performance is part of the current exhibition The Oldenburg Gleaners Society Club
There will be two performances of 20 minutes each: 19:30 and 21:30 in the exhibition hall of the Haus für Medienkunst
Admission is free!
